how do you pinpoint a vacuum leak?

my 92 Camaro RS is idling OK but it's still acting like it has a slight vacuum leak. i just replaced my EGR valve and thinking about replacing the solenoid for the hell of it. Does anyone have any tricks for pinpointing a leak?

Re: how do you pinpoint a vacuum leak?

Use a portable propane bottle. Take the nozzle off and attach a rubber hose over the end of the tube. Turn the bottle on just enough so that there's some propane coming out and keep the bottle upright. Now with the engine running (outside and out of the wind), move the rubber hose around areas you think might have a vacuum leak. If there is a leak, it will suck in the propane vapors and the engine rpm will increase slightly.

Trying to find a vacuum leak by spraying WD-40 around the engine has never worked for me. It's usually hit or miss.
