is it bad to hit the red line?
like..i know its generally bad to bounce it off the red line but like..every now and then, is it going to hurt the motor?

The red line on the tach should be your highest shift point. It's where the engine stops making power. Changing a camshaft and other components means the red line changes. The maximum rpm the engine can go to depends on the condition of the engine components. Worn out valve springs can really limit the engine's highest rpm.
Taking an engine too high can cause damage but it depends on the conditions.
