Cant find a head gasket

Been looking for hours but can't find a head gasket that will work. I wanted to find a gasket that would get my quench around .040. My pistons are around .017 in the hole and I have a bore size of 4.145. Anyone know of a gasket around .023 compressed thickness?

I can only find ones in .039 for that bore size and only available in copper. Why is the deck height so weird? Normally its done to the nearest .005". Why can't you have a little larger quench? Is this a high tolerance race motor?

Re: Cant find a head gasket

I wanted to get to as close to optimal as possible. The block is at the stock 9.025 height an the pistons have a 1.425 compression distance. That should put them .025 in the hole. I haven't gotten the motor yet, so I am going off what the current owner measured. He measured .017 in the hole. A head gasket with a thickness of .039 and a piston depth of .025 is gonna put my compression lower then I wanted. I thought 0.020 head gaskets would be common. I was wrong.

Look up Cometic. I believe they'll supply any thickness you desire.
