Need new keys
Hey everyone,
I need to get a new set of keys made for my 84 T/A, Does anyone have a good link to where I can get a set of key blanks made? I need the ignition and door keys.
I locked my keys in the car tonight and can't find my spare, so I'm going to order I think three new ones of each and stash them around so I will never lose them. Hopefully I can get them without having to call out a locksmith.

Re: Need new keys
It sounds like you're trying to get keys made from the key code so you don't have to get into the locked car to retrieve your keys? Dealerships can pull the key code and make keys from the VIN but it's not cheap. Plus, with their typical lack of support for anything older than 10 years, I don't know if they would even list the key codes for these cars anymore.
Re: Need new keys
I called the local dealership recently to see what it would cost to get a new ignition key made from the code. They charge between $40-$50 to pull that information and I was told their database only goes back as far as 1990.
The key blanks on the other hand are available at the dealer uncut for $5 a piece, unless they are VATS keys, which yours arent...but you can also get them at any locksmith.
