No Oil Dipstick?

No Oil Dipstick?

I bought a 86 trans am with a 350 chevy truck motor in it, the engine has no dipstick so i bought one at the auto wreckers, i cannot find the damn hole this dipstick goes into..... please help....

Maybe the tube the dip stick slides into is also missing. You will need to look down around were the oil pan and engine mate up. Look for a hole and maybe this is your problem.

I wouldn't doubt it, Whoever owned this car before me was a complete bloody idiot, I took of the air cleaner assembly, there is no air filter, We undid the engine coolant tank, no coolant, none in the rad either.....

did you check the LH side of the engine?-pre 1980 SBC
had the dipstick on the left.

haha you can say that again, its my second car, i love her already, the battery died at my friends house so we had to boost her, when we were on the highway my friend wanted to see how fast it was so he went full throttle and he was about 2 car lengths ahead of us, we passed him with ease, i did a tiny burnout around a corner and i felt the rear wheel come up hahaha.

Oh I will, When I have a bit more money I am going to get new tapet covers, they seem to be leaking oil, I'm going to get one with a dipstick slot. Also I will be soon enough putting my long tube headers on.
