Re: guess i can put this here

Take it to the machine shop before deciding on either one. If the bores look nice and you wanna save cash, then go with the first one. If the block needs to be bored out, then you will have to get a kit with pistons sized accordingly. You also need to know if the crank needs to be turned as well. It would suck to get stock sized bearings and the crank needed to be turned 10 thousandths.

Re: guess i can put this here

Rebuild is rather drastic action for an engine that runs crappy and smokes on startup. Are you sure the engine is toast?

Re: guess i can put this here

honestly no, i found out today that the little screw/spring that controls my idle was gone o.0 so i got one from an old carb we had laying aorund and set my idle so that the car idles 1k like it should and it started all day no problems and ran great, she runs fine but that little bit of blue smoke all winter has me worried and several people have told me i need to re ring my pistons and get a valve job

Re: guess i can put this here

If it smokes only on startup, you need new valve seals. The good news is a complete set of 16 will you about $12.

1k is a little high at idle. Should be more like 700 RPM.
