"Rotating" clicking sound in dash

Theres been a ticking/clicking noise coming from behind the radio console/under the shifter console. (I know it has nothing to do with the radio) The noise sounds like its caused from a rotating cable or something else rotating. Ill hear the noise randomly as I'm driving and can last from 10 seconds to minutes. I've noticed the speed of the ticking is correlated with RPMs.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks.

IMO speedo cable is flopping around.

If it's not the speedo, worst thing it *may* be trans related or torque converter.

Only while driving then look at the speedo cable.

Unfortunately, it has happened a few times while idling.

I think you may be right about it being trans related.. :S

I wonder if theres anything else rotating under my dash...
