91 Z28 idling to high?

So today after moving my Camaro in my driveway I let it sit for a bit since it hasn't really run in a little bit. While it was idling it was at 1500-1600. I thought it should be around 1000-1200 on idle. The rpm gauge might be off but I'm not sure. Any help to what may be the problem?

Probably just warming up still. If its already warmed up, you said it sat for a little. Depending on what type of injection system you have in it, it's probably dirty. Ride it around and put some gas treatment meant to clean out FI systems. Or if you are carved carb gas treatment. After that drive it normally for about 20 minutes then start getting into it a little. Should clean it up. Also a tune up may be in order. Good luck!
