Car turns over but won't start after 350 swap
Ive got compression. I've got spark. I've got fuel pressure. And I'm assuming air is a givin so I've got air too. I'm not sure what else to do. I set the timing by placing the number one cylinder to TDC and then pointing the cap to the number one cylinder. That's how to set the timing right? It's worked for me in the past. At least close enough to get it started. I've seen people say the dist. Could be 180 degrees but I just don't see how that's possible because the two plugs that are attached to the dist. face the firewall and move when I turn the dist. How could it be on backwards?

You have to make sure you are at TDC. I've had this issue after I suppose I got lucky installing my distributor a handful of times in the past.
Watch your #1 intake valve, when it closes keep cycling your motor til you come back to the TDC mark (assuming the TDC mark is accurate).
If you are 180 degrees out your distributor will not want to point to #1 no matter what you do. It will rather point to #3 or between #1 and your thermostat housing.
Seat your distributor, it ultimately doesn't matter where your rotor points although it's good practice and trouble shooting to point it towards the #1 cylinder. As long as the rotor lines up with the #1 spot (where the plug wire goes on the cap) on the cap you are good to go.

The dist. Was spun 180. It runs pretty good actually, but it's soooooooo rich because I put headers on and haven't got the o2 welded in yet. Just to hear it run is awesome though! It's been 6 months in the making.

Glad to hear. Before you adjust your timing at all, I would suggest you make sure the mark on the harmonic balancer is defiantly TDC.

Thanks! I'm using your corvette prom too! I haven't gotten it out on the road yet but it seems to work great so far. I had three separate people tell me it wouldn't work at all too..... Everyone turns into a master mechanic when you tell them what your doing but never seem to have any projects going on themselves.... Strange. Hahaha but anyway, I should be driving it this weekend!! I'll let you guys know how it is. It should be night and day compared to a basically stock 305
