General Question
I've had a 91 Camaro for over 10 years sitting in my parents garage and I finally have the room and $$ to get this thing where I want it. It currently has a 305, but I want to start the process to put a 383 stroker. Does anyone know of a good guide to make sure I am doing it right? I have a Haynes manual but I want something to help guide me with the right upgrades and what not so I don't do anything wrong! Let me know!!

Re: General Question
Changing the engine to a 383 is very easy to due. Getting a good builder is going to be the most complex issue. Look through all the different area's on TGO and ask alot of questions. I used to have a 383 and impressed but got the need for speed just a little bit more.
Re: General Question
What is your budget??. A lead-in good donor engine is a truck 1996 to 2000 roller block.
Don't think your going to build a class stroker bottom end and then cheap out on the heads/cam. If your budget is going to lead you in that direction, you best bet is to build a 355 saving the money not spent on the stroker and invest it in heads/cam for the 355.
Make no doubt about it. The power in made in the heads/cam in sbc/bbc's.

Re: General Question
thank you. I can't take the credit for building it though. I just paid out the a$$ to have it built for me.

Re: General Question
Im considering a 383 as well. Im keeping the tpi setup, plan on using the lt4 hotcam, undecided on heads, but since im planning on being done at ~5500-6k rpms i want all the low-mid range power i can get. I think a 383 would be a great idea for this. I dont plan on building the engine though, if im able to buy one then just put the cam heads and intake on it I will do that. But I dont want to go any further than that.
I found a nice 383, problem is its roughly $2k to buy:

Anyone know of any like this but cheaper? Or is it cheaper to get my 350 rebuilt to a 383 and how i want it?
