Replace distributor for non ccc carb.

Hi all.

I know for a fact that the carb I have on my engine is from a '79 engine and must of been replaced here in Aust and isn't ccc.

Anyway, from what I can see they didn't change the distributor. I don't see any vacuum advance on the disty. The car does run, but does smell very rich.

I've attached photos of the dist if that helps to identify it.
Is there a guide or a disty that people recommend to replace the ccc one?

Cheers.

Either to a ported vac source above the throttle blades, or directly to full manifold vac. One of those 'two schools of thought' things. Prefer full manifold myself.

Re: Replace distributor for non ccc carb.

The vac advance for the distributor gets hooked up to a part vaccum source not full vaccum

Yep, full. Gives you slightly better idle, mpg, and lower temps.

Edit: Use in conjunction with an adjustable can, so you can dial it in right.
