Configuration?
Every engine bay pic I have seen of a third gen anything has the AC compressor on the passenger side and the alternator on the driver side. My 87 IROC is opposite. Anyone got a gander as to why?

Re: Configuration?
88 was first year to swap A/C compressor to the passenger side. Makes for shorter A/C hose plumbing, and while they were at it, also redesigned the belt drive to be single serpentine.

Re: Configuration?
My 86 has the belts and ac/alt handing as per Vette's pic above. From what I've read, 86-87 were transition years from v-belts to serpentine.

Re: Configuration?
Not tryin to thread jack but has anyone swapped their alternator to the passenger side after removing the compressor and smog pump? I removed mine and now i feel i need the alternator on the passenger side to balance the look of the engine.
