Which to get:Intake or Cam?

Hey guys just wanted your opinions on something. If I could get either an HSR setup(intake and fuel rails) or a cam kit(cam and lifters) but not both for Christmas, which should I go for? I'm not concerned with price differences so don't throw those into the equation. I will eventually get both but which would be the best to start with on a stock L98 running only exhaust right now? And which cam would you guys recommend, staying with a hydraulic roller cam? Going to be very mild and probably be done with mods to the engine after the intake and cam. I have been looking at the Super L98 cam, any thoughts? Thanks fellas!

Intake. A cam will not make more power if it can't breathe.. if anything, you might lose power if you do not provide the modifications necessary that the new camshaft profile is designed for unless it's a regrind of similar specs to what you already have (which IMO is a massive waste of money since you have no idea what you want to do later). Getting an intake by itself won't give you the full effect, though. I'd suggest a good exhaust before the intake because it's equally important to push the exhaust out as it is getting more air. It's about the whole 'package' and not just parts of it.

It's kind of like (hypothetically) asking for bigger lungs and still having a small heart that can't support them. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Pretty obvious no-brainer then. Get the intake.

For sure man, pick up the HSR! It'll support all the future mods you want.
