HEI CC Distributor VS Non computer controlled..

So one my car right now I have to what I believe is a computer controlled distributor but..the 4 prong wire that comes out of the back has never been connected since I bought the car. I was wondering if I could possibly get one of those $100 distributor of summit..and will it work?if so, where would I attach the vacuum advance too?thanks!v

and one more thing..how bad is it if I forgot to put the o-ring on the distributor...could this be causing my car not to run right?

Re: HEI CC Distributor VS Non computer controlled..

you have asked this question before , buy a non ccc hei with vacuum advance and hook it to a ported vacuum signal on the carb.

Why don't you hook it up seeing you apparently still have a computer controlling your carb ?

The factory had it coming out of the harness that runs along the firewall, behind the engine. It can be hard to see.

Without it hooked up, you're in constant "limp home mode". Changing to a non-CC distributor won't change that. And, being in California, your only choice is a CC system.
