Starter supporting bracket

Ok, so today I swapped out my starter and it works great but I think I potentially have a small issue. The starter I pulled out was a Proform Performance mini starter and the one I replaced it with was a re-manufactured factory replacement. The previous owner removed the starter support bracket and its missing. Is it 100% needed? Im a bit concerned that over time the weight of the starter may slowly fatigue the mounting bolts and change the mesh distance on the gears.

Re: Starter supporting bracket

I'd probably feel better having one.
