alternator problem after manifold install

Hey everyone, i recently put a new carb and intake manifold in my car. I had to remove the alternator and bracket to do so, after the install i put the alternator back on and it is no longer.giving a charge. Battery is at 12.3V at 3000rpm. The only thing i could think of was one of the wires isnt getting a good enough connection so i checked them, wirebrushed one, and still no charge, why would it stop working after being taken off and put back on?

That's odd...unless something was damaged during the install. Take it to autozone and have those guys check the system. Or, get a new alternator, install it and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't, just return it, and attempt to isolate it to the wires or something. I assume the connection to the alternator is in good shape? Also, why is 12.3V at 3000rpm a bad thing? And how old is your battery?
