battery disconnect switch

battery disconnect switch

how do i hookup the alternator part to a two post kill switch (battery shutoff switch)? my switch shuts off but car still runs. do i run a wire from the battery swtich "off" to the red wire on the alt or the connector part on top of the alternator? alt i have http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-811001

run a min 10ga wire from alternator battery terminal to the off side of the switch. or you can use a high current relay or a battery isolator solenoid under the hood to open the charge wire.

i hooked the wire up to the terminal on the alt and it keeps running. is it the wrong connection? the bolt on alt is where i hooked it to. or do i have to hook it to one of the wires to the white or red wire on alt?
