Will '89 TPI work with 350 TBI from 95' truck?
My '89 L98 died on me. I'm planning on taking the winter to save up for proper upgrade, but a friend has stumbled on a good running 350 TBI from 95' truck for sale for a good price. Stock engine, nothing special. If it will just "drop in" though, it would be nice to have the car mobile while I save up for something better.
Can I use the truck long block (or even just the short block) with the TPI, sensors, accessories on my car? Anything I need to look out for (parts won't fit, line up, etc)?
It doesn't have vortec heads, so that's not an issue. I'm not changing the cam or anything for it, so the truck blocks needing work for a roller cam isn't an issue either. Anything I might be missing?

No .
Your computer doesn't know what engine you have slipped in under the intake.
Put all your TPI parts and sensors onto the truck engine
You are going to have both motors well apart at the same time to swap the TPI intake over so you may as well install the proper L98 cam and roller lifter setup.
The truck block should have the same provisions for a roller cam that your '89 block has ; even if it only has a flat tappet cam installed with the TBI

Thanks for the reply. If swapping the cam over is straight forward then I'll do that as well. I thought I had read that only some of the truck blocks had provisions for the roller cam.
