mounting MSD box

Can you guys send me some pics of where you mounted your MSD box? I'm just trying to figure out if I can mount it in the engine bay but so far it doesn't look good. Thanks in advance!

Re: mounting MSD box

I once mounted an MSD to the left of the master cylinder/vacume booster-looked good there and never got too hot or anything-brackets had to be made for the mounting.

Re: mounting MSD box

If you don have AC or heat, it can go on the passenger side firewall.

Otherwise there is space between the passenger side wheel well and the strut tower.

Mine resided there for years until I ditched the A/C & heater, sorry I don't have pics of that.

Thats actually really trick. Assume you have the battery in the back?

I am putting mine under the dash. Making a custom bracket to hold the ecm and the box.

Re: mounting MSD box

right on top of battery, using bracket from summit and a home-made "L" bracket to the battery hold-down bolt. makes it a bit tighter access to the battery terminals, but don't have to get to them all the time anyway, so... just another trade-off.

Re: mounting MSD box

I made a stand out of sheet aluminum and put it over my charcoal canister. There were enough existing factory holes in the surronding sheet metal that allowed the stand to be fastened without drilling anything new.
The pic is from a few years ago in my old chassis and I swapped everything over to the new one.

That's exactly where I have mine. I just zip tied mine to the bracket that goes in front of the relays on the firewall. Actually looks pretty good.
