I'm trying to find a fitting that will go from 3/8" inverted flare (5/8"-18 flare nut) to a -6 AN hose end. This from my mechanical fuel pump to my in-line fuel filter (and then to carb).
I've only found one manufacturer, Aeroquip, and it's made for PTFE fuel line. Not sure if that adaptable to a Summit brand hose end.

I'm thinking I could remove the "nut" portion of this hose end (and expose the male end) and spin my female hose end swivel onto it.

 

I just did this on my car Friday night. I ran a 90 degree bend out of the pump with a 6an end then a short piece of stainless braided line and another 6an that hooks to the filter. Then the same from the filter to the feed of the double pumper fuel line hook up. We built the lines to the lengths I needed.

 

What kind of fitting is the outlet of your pump? Pipe thread or a flare fitting?
My old pump (Edelbrock) has a 3/8" NPT (pipe thread) I have an adaptor that goes from NPT to -6 male hose end.
My new pump, instead of a NPT fitting, has a 3/8" inverted flare. I need an adaptor to go into it and connect to my existing -6 fitting.

 

My pump is pipe thread in and out. I go to hose building places for these situations. Same place I get replacement hoses for back hoes and excavators. That may be an option for you.

 

There's the problem. I had a pipe thread on the old pump and built an entire braided steel system from the pump to filter carb. That was easy.
This new pump has a flare fitting on the outlet and I haven't been able to find an adapter to go from the flare to braided steel. I've tried a few of the industrial supply places with no luck. The only one I've found is the Aeroquip part in the first post and I'm not sure if it's compatible with what I currently have.

 

Do it this way instead. Then use the right hose end for whatever hose you're using.

That way you can even put a 90° or 45° on your hose, if that will make it fit better.

Why couldn't I find that? It's even the same Summit black anodized style I have for the rest of the system. I already have the 90 sweep from pump to filter. All I'll need to do here is swap out the NPT adapter for this inverted flare.

Probably because the AN fitting mfrs all use the thread size to describe their fittings, instead of the tubing size and flare style like the whole rest of the world. Makes it impossible to search them by their normal description. Kinda boneheaded if you ask me. But then, what would I possibly know about "boneheaded", anyway...
