Firing order for Distributor Cap/wires

My friend that was helping me do some engine work decided to pull the wires off the cap before I could number them all.... 1988 firebird 5.0L

#1 is usually in the 5 o'clock position when looking at the cap from the front. Rotation is clockwise

Good advice. You did say "usually", which means ...

@Oxygen454 - #1 could be anywhere. It depends on what else you and any Previous Owners have done, whether that rule of thumb still applies.

Rotate the balancer mark to TDC. The distributor is pointing at either #1 or #6. You can search on how to determine which one.

Luckily when I numbered the first 4 wires with tape near the cap, I took a picture. So I shouldn't have a problem now that I have the firing order. Thanks!
