Engne Oil Temp Sensor and a Canton 15-244T Oil Pan

Hi Guys,

I just finished a project to install an EOT in my oil pan.

Running a 7730 SD ECM and desired to monitor the EOT.

There are two ways to install a sensor in this oil pan.

1.
Install the EOT sensor in a horizontal orientation on the drivers side.

2.
Install the EOT sensor in a vertical orientation on the passenger side.

I choose option 1 because I am running an aftermarket gear reduction starter. Not much room on the passenger side.

The parts list is not long.

A.
20mm-1.5 Drain Plug : Dorman 65221.

B.
EOT Sensor : Wells TU225 or BWD S8500.

C.
EOT Sensor Pig Tail : BWD PT217 or Dorman 84598.

Drill and Tap the Dorman Drain Plug for a 1/4"-18 NPT Thread.

The last step is to bore the 1/4"-18 threaded hole so the non-threaded part of the EOT sensor body can slide into the modified Drain Plug body.

That's it.

Attached is a picture.

Best Regards,

Bruce
