air conditioner clutch won't engage
air conditioner clutch won't engage so it won't come on. changed valve cover gaskets and tried the ac and nothing. checked continuity across the ac input connector on the unit and it was a dead short. is it fried.

Couple of things...
1) did you check and see if you pinched a wire under the valve cover?
2) Did it work before the VC change-out?
3) It could be low on freon and not letting the AC Compressor engage. That's a safety feature of the AC unit.
