Can You Guess What Filter This Is?

Not many people know about it or have ever changed it (if need be).

Re: Can You Guess What Filter This Is?

Lol That's Way To Easy,But I Have To Admit They Are Rarely Changed,There Is Nothing In Either The Owner's Manual Or Service Manual About Changing Them. No Service Interval Is Stated.

The new filter advised replacement every 12,000 or sooner--damn! I discovered the filter at 140K. As you can imagine it crumpled in my hand like a dry leaf!

That was my guess too, because of the shape and because TTOP350 said "most people yank it out anyways"

Re: Can You Guess What Filter This Is?

Charcoal/Vapor canister. Apparently some canisters are open and require the filter, while others are closed. After the mid-80's, I believe, they're all closed. At any rate, turn the can over and take a peek.

I had the can out last year looking to replace the filter, but I couldn't find a way to open the can.

Re: Can You Guess What Filter This Is?

See post #10. Old filter out, new filter in (notice how it simply tucks into place under a lip on the canister). Pics from 69 Z11.

By 89, I'd guess that all canisters were closed—no filter required.
