Really Fast Oil Leak

I'm looking for possible causes of a incredibly fast oil leak. I'll pour oil in and before I even have time to finish pouring everything will be on the ground under the car. I've tried jacking it up and looking for it, but i cant seem to find it. I thinks it's high up in the rear of the engine somewhere. It's a 91 5.0 TPI

Re: Really Fast Oil Leak

is it leaking only with it running, or shut off ... if it is only when it is shut off, it sounds like you have a hole in your pan, or you didnt put the plug in ... not many places it can leak from if it is not running, as the oil should all be in the pan

Re: Really Fast Oil Leak

if your head drains are plugged up, and you have a bad valve cover gasket, it could be coming from the valve cover as well ... i would check the drain plug first

Re: Really Fast Oil Leak

If it was valve covers, holy crap. That would be nuts. Is there oil all over the motor everywhere? Or is it still clean like oil pan/plug.

Re: Really Fast Oil Leak

i agree, but the op gives almost no info, so i was just giving some guesses ... it would help if we had more info ... like what he/she was doing right before the leak ... was there an oil change, was the car being driven, has it been driven while the op has owned it, how long has it been leaking this way, is it on ramps/stands when putting the oil in, is it only leaking when it is running ... all that info would help ... my best guess is the drain plug was left out or not put in right with the seal, or a hole in the pan

Re: Really Fast Oil Leak

The oil has not been changed in a while at the time of the leak, it was at around 1500-1750 miles in, The car was being daily driven to and from school around 2 miles away, the car is beat up pretty bad as the previous owner kinda abandoned it, it has 205k on it, I was in the process of making it look and run nice, the car drains oil when off, it wasn't leaking at all it came about over night. the front is on stands when i was looking for the location and putting oil in.

Edit: Next time i'm out there i will try to take a video or something or pouring in oil and then it leaking out.

Unbelievable! If that puppy is leaking THAT bad, you got a serious problem!

Is the oil pan even ON! JK.

I can't imagine all the drain holes to be plugged in the head. And that would be a very big valve cover leak.

Rear main seal GONE?? I bought a brand new 96 Bronco, drove home 200 miles, rear main let loose in driveway. What a mess.

I didn't help at all.
