Tranny temp gauge in trans am

I was looking at some old threads on here and before I leave for school again I wanted to add a trans temp gauge.

My plan is to mount it on the right side kick panel on the drivers side next to the radio area. So its out of the way until I need it basically. Just an autometer.

I was looking, is the tranny pan the best place to install it? And any tips on doing that?

Any install pics would be great on a firebird. A lot of the old threads have broken pics

A lot of people buy a sender bung and have it welded into the pan. if you have a drain plug on the pan, a sender for the gauge might fit in that and no modifications would be needed. It might stick down too far though if ground clearance is an issue.

As far as where to mount the gauge in the car, I'd personally buy a pillar gauge pod and mount it there, up and out of the way.

I put mine a little too close to the header, but have not hooked it up yet.

Better spot would be on the back side of the pan.

And put the guage on the a-pillar like Ozz said

Sounds good then, I'll set this up when I go to change my tranny fluid next.

Doing small things that will still benefit my car when I slap a 350 in it
