With the discoloration of that one side, and the general "whiteness" of the rest of the electrode it looks like a combination of running lean and running hot.
TPI car, right? you have your timing, idle, etc. all good or was this just a "ok, I think it'll start now. . .GO!" type of test run?

It is a 89 IROC TPI car I'm piecing together after someone else took it apart.
I have timing "close". I'm still researching what degrees the peaks & valleys are on the timing pointer. This is the one mounted up behind the water pump where its really hard to see. I'm currently sitting on the 2nd peak from the left facing the engine.
The engine is missing pretty bad.
Already did the usual just because...plugs, wires, cap, rotor.
Fresh clean gas. I had to replace the tank due to corrosion, so new pump, sock, filter and cleaned lines front to back.
Also changed to a set of used BoschIII's
Fuel pressure at 38, and all eight compression 152-159
