Got code 33. Cleaned up the sensor with some MAF cleaner and code went away, but after driving the car it came back. Car was stumbling, taking longer to start up, and idling around 1000-1500 rpms at a stop light. It was doing this with the sensor connected and disconnected. Even when i turn the car of the rpm needle stays on the same spot it was idling on. I have to turn the key for the needle to go back to 0. Not sure if the MAF is the cause for that as well, but any help will be appreciated.

I had the same symptoms on my 87 IROC... surging idle, cleaned MAF, ran good for a day, surging idle again. I bought new (reman is all they sell) MAF from O'Reilly's today, $170.00 with core trade. Installed and seems to be running normal.

Have you had any problems yet? I drove mine around the block and it turned off on me a minute after it started. I disconnected the maf sensor and it turned on and was able to make it home.

Re: MAF Sensor Bad?
I drove it for about 45 minutes today and it was fine. Mostly at 55-60 MPH.
