I have 5.0 TPI that's in a 88 model Firebird auto with 3.23 gear. Engine has been rebuilt by previous owner when I found him on a site and ask him all he would say is It's got pistons and cam and very good stuff and dropped off not to tell no more than that. The car is strong and is pulling 0-60 around 6.6 sec and pulls hard up in the 5000 rpm range . Anybody got a idea of what he may have done to this engine?

Go test it in the 1/4 or put it on a dyno and that could give us an idea. Its probably stock.

He put a lot in the suspension. It's low and all under side is new. I got a bad vibration due to the lowering so I'm thinking about seeing if some one will trade me for stock springs.

Re: Engine spec unknown
Now as far as your car. Hard to say what the PO did. Get part numbers off of parts, casting numbers off the heads, etc. Do a compression test, leak down test. Put a bore scope in the spark plug holes to try and see what pistons are in it. Use a dial gauge to check valve lift, and a degree wheel to get close on the duration
