I have been running a Jacobs Ultra Team system on my Jeep for ten years. Not one problem. Ever.
I got tired of the Jeep and transplanted it to my Camaro this year and it still works great!
Forget MSD, get Jacobs.

Jacob's system is entirely different from the other's from what I understand.
It's comparing apples and oranges.
Jacob's has patents on their products, and nobody else even comes close. Jacob's ignition alters the voltage depending on engine load. They also are more powerful unit than the other brands.
However, you get what you pay for. The jacob's pro/street system is over $400.00!

Why would you want to vary the voltage depending on engine load? that makes no sense to me. Why not have the most voltage possible ALL the time? Their ads are doubly retarded, they mention something about having more voltage at wot for more power and less when you are just cruising for fuel mileage
thats about the dumbest thing ive ever heard. Greater spark intensity equals greater fuel mileage, not less.. and lowering will just lower your engines efficiency.
Someone explain this to me because I dont get it
3.8TransAM,
I really do not know what has happened with your box. Is this the second unit or the same one that was repaired? We have a less then one percent failure rate on all of our product which is very good for electronics. It would be nice to tell you that we never have failures but this is unrealistic. Send the unit to my attention and I will see what is going on with the unit. By seeing what has failed in the unit we can get a good idea on what has created the failure. The address is:
MSD Ignition

As for Jacobs, all I really want to say is take their ads with a large grain of salt. Any company that claims exact numbers is doing nothing more then trying to sale product. There is entirely to many variables to make a claim as far as an exact number with ignitions is impossible to do. As for their description of how their ignition varies output with load, completely true. Then again every ignition out there does the same thing down to old style stock points. You guys use what ever you want to use and I hope you have nothing but great success with it.
3.8TransAM,
Let me know what you decide to do. I hate to have you buy another system when it is really not necessary. I will be happy help you out. If you want to e-mail me with a phone number I will call you and see if it is something we can trouble shoot or if it is in the unit and it needs to be repaired. Again let me know.
Thanks,
Joe
