How do I check power to my A/C compressor?
I just installed a brand new upgraded A/C system. New evap, accumulator, condenser and compressor. Just wanted to know if I have to somehow trick the system into thinking it has freon so I can see if I get the 12 volts to the compressor wire. I have an 87, so there's one connector with a green/black wire and a green/white wire as well as a black and an orange wire. I think the back/green was for a switch on the old R4 compressor so thats not used anymore. I just want to make sure the car will actually turn the compressor on before I go get it filled.

You can jump the two wires at the pressure switch to make the system think it has freon, just make sure not to leave it jumped for more than a split second to see if the clutch kicks in or you will burn it up.
