What are the connections out of the thermostat housing for 1983 Impala?
What are the connections out of the thermostat housing for 1983 Impala?
1983 Chevy Impala. I have 2 things coming out of the thermostat housing. I believe 1 of them is the EFE TVS for the EGR valve and the other I have not idea. It has wires running to it and they're pulling out so I need to replace it. I don't know what it is called to see if I can still buy one. Any ideas???

I figured it out. It's the temperature sensor. HOWEVER, the original version is much different that what is currently available. Now they have a plastic piece that connects to the sensor in the thermostat. Has anyone replaced the original with a new version? I can see that the new harness has a yellow and black wire that matches the original wire colors. I've looked at NAPA auto parts, Autozone, PepBoys, and O'Reily. Thanks.

Hi , I hate to tell you this , but your at the wrong forum for your question . This forum deals only with 1982 to 1992 Pontiac Firebird and Chevy Camaro and it's not too likely anyone here is gonna know what your Impala needs . If your looking for good info , either a "generic" Chevy forum , a specific Impala forum , or perhaps a forum dealing in Chevy engines (of all the various sub brands of Chevy) would be your best bet .
I wish you well and when you do end up buying a "General Motors Third Generation F body" car , all the answers you'll need will be right here ....

Ooops! Thanks for being patient with a noob. I had been searching for sometime, and some images lead me here. I will switch to a different forum.
