fuel pump
prev. owner took out the mechanical pump put in a electrical one. i did not pay attention to the sound . but i noticed that now it keeps running and it is hard to start . seems to smoke when it starts . this is in a 1967 mustang 289 , old school carburetor no computer no injectors ,( is this normal for the pump to keep running ?)

Ok Mustang guy , I'll explain the less than warm welcome you got here , cause it appears you've missed one BIG detail ......This is a board dedicated EXCLUSIVELY to the THIRD GENERATION of the GM F BODY CAR . As such , the ONLY cars your allowed to discuss here are 1982 through 1992 Chevy Camaro / Pontiac Firebird ONLY . Hence the name "Third Gen . Org" , didn't you notice all the nice pictures of Camaros and Firebirds ONLY , with not a Mustang in sight ?
Your best bet will be to find a Mustang forum and ask your questions there , You just unknowingly did the internet equivalent of riding a Honda Shadow (Fake Harley) into the parking lot of a real Harley bar , and were left wondering why you got your azz kicked ........
