Performance package
Performance package
This is a dumb question but I honestly cannot find any information on this dispute a lot of searching, I just started overhauling a 1989 GTA 5.0 /5.7 tpi swap ws6 with a manual T5. While ordering parts for brakes I keep being asked if it's the "performance package" I assume it is being a ws6 GTA. Is that correct?
Re: Performance package
Awesome good to know, so the LE is non performance package? Man these cars have a lot of weird options.
one other thing, is there any difference between the 5.0 and 5.7 GTA other than the engine and the lack of choice for a manual on the 5.7? Just in terms of other mechanical items.

Re: Performance package
No. 1LE = with the performance package. 99.9% of thirdgens didn't have 1LE brakes. If your front calipers are rusty iron, they're not 1LE/Performance Package brakes. About the only GTAs that will ever have 1LE brakes are the 89 Turbo Trans Am.
Mostly, but it's best to just look up the parts on a case by case basis to be sure.
