What’s a Differential pressure sensor and why can’t I find one??

I got code 32, I’m a 1992 RS 305 tbi and my repair manual says that it’s the “differential pressure sensor” but I can’t find one.. someone said it’s the same as a map sensor but I don’t think it is because code 33 says map sensor.. very very confused, car idles and runs well cold but when warmed up idles eradically and dies when put into drive. Thanks

Sounds like you need a Repair Manual to English/English to Repair Manual Dictionary.

Just roughly guessing here, but 'differential' is probably in reference to manifold pressure vs atmospheric or barometric pressure. Guess I could walk down the hall and look up the code 32 in the GM book...

Code 32 for a toilet bowl injected 91 Camaro is an EGR circuit issue. I'd assume it's the same for 92. Just scanning over the page, it does mention the code is set in relation to the MAP sensor and what the EGR solenoid is supposed to be doing. If your book isn't talking about the EGR circuit, you should probably get a better book.

It's probably looking for a change in the MAP sensor when the EGR activates. Chances are if the engine runs normal (MAP sensor is working) then the code 32 means there is a malfunction in the EGR system.

I believe that was the standard diagnostic for the EGR actuation once the EGR temperature switch was abandoned, about 1990-ish.
