So I noticed that the ls7 lifters are not clearanced as much as even the stock lifters... Are you guys running these on higher lift more aggressive lobes?
I think my stroker engine has 0.630 lift with a 1.7 rocker.
Notnot sure, they may very well just be fine I just find it odd that the factory lifters are clearanced on the sides so the lifter body can never touch the cam. When you Google aftermarket high lift lifters the bodies are even more clearance, yet these LS7 lifters are not at all.
it may have nothing to do with the actual lift but rather how steep the ramp is.
I've never actually seen a hydraulic roller lifter that wasn't clearanced, so when I took these out of the box last night to install them I was kind of like what?! So I stopped.
Used to be said the pushrod cup sat lower by near .060 when they first came out. Not sure of that now or then, never measured to be sure. But on aftermarket cams i ran them with on aftermarket heads the pushrods were longer than 7.20
I hear the delphis are not the same and not as good hence why they cost much less
lol 10 yrs ago ls7’s were 130$ now they are 215$
3 years ago they were $130 a set. I always pay employee price being a dealership employee with a GM sister store. Dealer cost plus 10% pricing.
I have them in my Vortec 350. Comp Magnum high lift lobes with 1.7 rockers at .578" lift. 155# on the seat and 350# open double springs. Shift at 6,200 with a 6,500 rpm fuel kill. Has seen multiple dyno runs to 6,500. Also saw numerous 6,500 rpm fuel shut-offs dialing in the 4L85E shift points.
On a roller block do they still use 7.2 push rods ?
My geometry was perfect with aftermarket assault racing heads that were milled .020", have .100" longer valves, comp cam on magnum lobes and and 1.7 rockers with 7.2" comp magnum pushrods.. Maybe I just got lucky. Thats why you ALWAYS check your setup. An adjustable setup pushrod is a very valuable addition to the tool box.
