85 Firebird no crank
85 Firebird no crank
Hey everyone my 85 TA had a Clifford nova 3 in the vehicle when I bought it and noticed sometimes it wouldn’t crank so I would have to jiggle the alarms relay sometimes, well since I didn’t have the fobs for it or nor did I care to have it I removed the master brain and tried just reconnecting wire back to the harness, I still have no crank. I’ve tried replacing the ignition switch, and bypassing the neutral safety switch, and still nothing. Unless I jump the the two wires that were going to the relay. Any suggestions?

Jump the 2 wires going to the relay.
Ever wonder why those of us who have acoupla decades of experience tell folks NOT to put an aftermarket alarm w/ engine disable function in their cars? Ever? FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER??? … You just found out why.
When I say "jump", I mean, GET RID OF ALTOGETHER the aftermarket POS that has failed (trash can it), and put the wiring back AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to its original umolested state, pre-sodomization. Might take a certain amount of auto archaeology to get back to that condition. It's not like anybody here is going to be able to look at your car over the Internet and tell you any better than you can see yourself, what some g00b did to your car way back in the Ice Age. Gotta do a certain amount of your own digging. We can't do that for you.
