'86 305 Power steering dedicated belt - Required?
I've traced down an odd rattle under the hood of my '86 TA to the power steering pump belt, the one that goes directly to the crankshaft pulley. It seems that the belt has lost some of it's spring. There's still a good belt on the second track, going from crank/waterpump/AC compressor/Power Steering. My question is, could I survive without that secondary belt to limp the car 30ish miles over to a buddy's house where I can actually wrench on it? I plan on replacing all the belts, but can't do so in the apartment parking lot, I figured I'd ask here before I make a terrible decision and snip that stretched belt off.

If it's only somewhat loose I'd be inclined to leave it till you get to where your going to work on it . If it's really bouncing bad and you think it may break or otherwise fall off and perhaps take out the good belt then yea , snip it off and hope the other belt stays put . Since you say it's dedicated to the power steering I'd avoid turning the wheel to it's stops (It's loading the pump more at the stops) to make sure the one good belt doesn't slip .
