82 Firebird Engine Harness help
Hello,
After about a week of searching, I am still in need of some help. My car was a V6 and I'm swapping in a V8. Simple enough. I am trying to make sure I hook everything up properly in the way of Oil Pressure Gauge and Light, Coolant Temp Gauge and Light. Not so much worried about Emissions as this engine will not have any. I am aware of the austin3rdgen page here http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=45 but what I'm failing at is what the sensor is supposed to be for each of the Oil and Coolant ones. If anyone can help me with what the connector should look like, where it should go, and what sensors to use, I would really appreciate. Before I get flamed, I had them taped and labeled, but the tape has fallen off on a bunch and the pictures I had of the engine before it was removed are nowhere to be found
Any help would really be great.
Thanks,
Rich
UPDATE: I found this on the Austin site http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=20 and it's helpful, but if anyone has a pic of showing where these locations would be on a carbureted engine, that would be awesome.

Re: 82 Firebird Engine Harness help
Coolant temp gauge is a green wire, white transparent connector with a sorta spade terminal looking end. Oil pressure is a single terminal connector that slips onto a threaded post connector (IIRC) the oil pressure light or switch is a two wire connector with spade type terminals, again IIRC. There should be a ton of photos of the coolant temp connector in other threads, google type "temp sender connector site:thirdgen.org" Do the same for oil pressure gauge and switch. With all the threads where people ask "what's this for" most of the connectors have been documented pretty thoroughly.

Just gotta dig a bit, it's all there with a google search and a little digging. The coolant temp was right at the top, since it's the same from 82-92. The oil pressure gauge/switch was 3/4 down the page to find the early style, because mid-late cars have that function built into a single switch that shows up in most of the photos on that page.

Using that search term is very helpful, thank you. I can't seem to find that oil pressure switch you pictured, but that's ok, I'll keep searching. This has been a lot of help, thanks!
