Dart shp 406 vs ATK 383

Posted this in another forum.....

My shop is saying $6400 for Dart SHP with all forged rotating assembly with
forged crank, fully balanced, CPcarrillo pistons with Molnar rods. Plus labor.

I see ATK has fully forged 383 for lil over 3K.

If I won the lottery sure why not spend the $6K on a killer motor? But I am not made of money. I am 2 years away from retirement from the Marine Corps and am at my last duty station and figured the Camaro sat long enough (10 years) . The engine that was in the car had a gnarly cut in the bore, and explained why my 385 HSR was only making 320rwhp and lil more torque.

Kinda long winded and I apologize but give me your feedback

Google ATK engine problems and you'll see why you'll want to spend $6k.
