So I have a 88 firebird gta with the 350 tpi engine. I converted it to carbureted last summer. Vortec heads and intake Edelbrock 600 carb. Other than that it’s stock. It ran great I put a brand new carb on it a few weeks ago and had some minor things with it. After I would step on it the next time I would start off slow it would chug and hesitate a bit. A few days ago I put a 1 inch carb spacer on it. Yesterday I drove it. Stomped on the gas and it died. It fired up a couple times and the idle bounced and it would die again. Then it would only fire once in a while and not start. It would backfire out the carb and also dump thick smoke out the exhaust once in a while. After a half hour of turning it over I pulled a spark plug out and it was dry. I pulled the line off the carb. Tons of fuel to the carb. The gauge shows 9 psi.
