1988 IROC - stripped oil pan thread

New to the forum, looking for some help.
Any suggestions how to fix this without replacing the pan?
I have the 305 TPI engine.
Anyone know for sure the drain plug thread specs?
I put an expandable rubber plug in as a temporary fix but it is leaking for sure and not a permanent solution.

Here's my thread:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...d-oil-pan.html

There's been some discussion but those threads can be hard to find. The stores sell a self tapping drain plug that cuts into the existing, stripped hole with a slightly larger one. They are only a few bucks. However, I found this was not a permanent solution either. I ended up buying a larger tap and heli-coil set and a new, next size up drain plug that I will install at the next oil change.
