89 TTA - Headlights just stopped illuminating
I just had the car in the shop to get the A/C addressed. There was some leaking seals in the A/C compressor. I went to use my headlights last night and now the lights themselves do not illuminate. Everything else works fine, including the headlight motors, the driving lights, the fog lights, tail lights, and brake lights. I'm not noticing any other electrical issues or blown fuses.
I'm going to look through the wiring and service manual shortly but I figured I'd ask if anyone has an simple ideas other than both headlights broke at the same time.

Check voltages through the headlight switch.

Re: 89 TTA - Headlights just stopped illuminating
So it turns out that the original wiring to the headlights must have been replaced. There is a set of relays near the passenger headlight motor where one controls the low beams and the other controls the high beams. The 12v to the beams comes directly off the battery. I assume the shop that repaired the A/C disconnected the battery and missed the small wire when reconnecting. I can also assume that a previous owner redid some of the wiring.
To get to the relays I had to pull the passenger headlight assembly. Now upon reconnecting the passenger beam is dim and the high beam doesn't work at all. Since the ground was attached to one of the 4 bolts that holds the assembly in, it looks like I have a poor ground now on the passenger side 10.8 volts compared to 11.9 volts when measured at the bulb plug. I got the passenger side up to around 11.5 volts by trying to clean the contact area for the ground, but it is still significantly more dim than the other side. The fun never ends.
