I am building a 383 planning on AFR as cast heads and have already in hand a GM hot cam 218/228 .525" lift and was looking and found a Comp 280xfi and wondered if that would work with a Super Ram that I have planned I also have the E4 PBL? piggy backed to ECM Sorry I'm not big on tuning so I plan to take it to someone that can do it right. is the comp too big car will be manual with 3.54 gears thanks in advance guys

I do not have experience with it in my own vehicles, but it is a common cam in a 383 combo. If you want a smoother idle then stick with your current cam.

Should run great. I have the xfi292 in a manual trans 383 and don't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Zero adverse affects. The 280 should be a great match to your combo.

I'm running the 280xfi with 1.6 roller rockers in my turbo 406 combo with AFR heads and Superram. It works fine so far. Just ordered an EBL P4 to help with tuning. Been using a moates adapter on the 7730 with code 59 bin and Ostrich 2.0 and seem to be chasing my tail on the $59 mask. Hopefully the EBL with make it easier with its own bins.

if yer on the street only you'll love the 280, but the 383 will swallow a 292 no probs, you'd love that one even more (only MO)
