Location of oil sending unit.

What is the location of the oil sending unit that controls the oil pressure gauge on my 1984 Z28 Camaro ? The car has a 305 with a Q-Jet 4 bbl carburetor and an automatic trans.. Please help. I have been getting a lot of different answers. I car want to make sure I replace the right part. My gauge reads correctly when I first start the car but when the motor warms up the oil pressure falls to just above the red area at the bottom of the oil pressure gauge.

Re: Location of oil sending unit.

On the top of the back of the block, underneath the distributor, behind the intake manifold.

Re: Location of oil sending unit.

Thank you. I heard that is where it was. I wasn't sure if it was that one or the by the oil filter, If that one is present on a 1984 Z28 with a 305 carbureted engine. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
