Re: Tbi swap a carb

I see there's a language/translation issue here. What are you trying to do? Your car is a tbi and you want to switch to a carb? Or is your car carbureted now and you want to switch back to tbi?

Then you'll probably want or a have a hei distributor like this and all you need to do is hook up 12volt power only when the key is on to the correct terminal in the cap. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...0/make/pontiac
If you are trying to use the distributor that came with the tbi then there will be no control on the timing advance.

I'm still a confused on what you have or need an answer for.
You have a hei distributor like the link I posted, correct?
If yes, for the wiring to make the distributor work is just one wire that has power with the key on only.
Are you having problems putting the distributor into the engine?
maybe this helps?

Just like replacing any other distributor, can google search. The wiring from body side pink and white wire get hooked up to the side of the new distributor. Pink b+ and white is tach.

Hello, I am new to the forum, I would like to know what the function of the TACH is in an HEI distributor, since I have been told that it is not required to connect it for it to work and I wanted to know if what they tell me is true
