Just got an 83. I’ve always been around cars growing up but this will be my first project personally.

It runs a little rich and it has open headers so I’m gonna tune up the carburetor/replace it and get exhaust.
Also it has shaved door handles and the windows don’t roll up or down, my plan is to get the windows operational then move to door poppers. It has the poppers and solenoids and stuff it’s just not hooked up, so hopefully I can salvage some things there. No locks work so just gonna keep the windows up when it’s parked.
What other general tune-up maintenance should I do? Oil change, spark plugs, etc.

 

Oil change,check fluid levels and condition,check for evidence of oil leaking at rear axle yoke-some leaking is expected,but can indicate pinion nut has backed off a little(common problem) .Pull out and reinsert all the fuses to reestablish good contact.Finally look over for rust, hidden accident damage,hack jobs....
