86 Camaro - misfiring then died and will not start
Hi there,
I have a 86 camaro with the 305 tpi and I just got the car on the road again for the first time in a bit. Every time I would start it moving it around she would start up no problem and idle fine. Problem was she had this stutter where as soon as you tried to give it some gas it would want to stall.
Starting diagnosing and realized at the time when the MAF was unpluged thr stutter would go away, so a new MAF was ordered in and installed.
Had her out on a cruise and at first she was driving fine and about 10 or 15ms into the ride i noticed that when shed be in overdrive around 2000rpm plus the car would start missing bad when I pushed the pedal down past a third and the rims went to 2500. If I dropped the gear down to Drive the rpm would come uo over 3000 no problem but as soon as I tried applying more the a third of pedal same issue and would start missing.
At this point plugging the MAF or unplugging didn't seem to effect anything. I now finally got some codes to work with code 33 and 36
All was fairly consistent until I was down the road from home and the car start backfiring and flat out died. Side of the road hadda call a tow.
It seemed like it was running excessivly rich, when trying to start the car I'd pump the gas and could get it hardly running on what sounded like 2 cylinders. When I unplugged the fuel pump relay I cranked for a bit to try to get the excess fuel out and she started back up. Plugged the pump relay bad in and could move her for about a minute till it died again.
Now we are back to deal with a no fire situatuion doesnt matter if the MAF is plugged in. Fuel pressure on the rail is coming up to just about 40 and is holding well when the key it off. Took out a single spark plug and test for spark, good spark. There is a MSD box on the car however it seems to he working. Plug that I took out seemed completely fine no indication of running rich or lean.
Should I start with the MAF relays? Perhaps testing the plug for the MAF and the relays as well?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thank you

Re: 86 Camaro - misfiring then died and will not start
Update
Checked power to the MAF power relay - Good
Checked ground to MAF power relay - Good
Checked power to the MAF connector - Good
Swapped MAF power relay - no change
Ohm tested all injectors - 16.2-16.4ohms
Tested TPS sensor -.54volts at idle, steady increase as throttle is applied
Going to try to crank her with some quick start and see if this is fuel related, pull the rest of the spark plugs and inspect and check for spark at each plug next
