IAT location? 1985 v8 5.0 carb 305

Having a code for IAT sensor, but having trouble figuring out what it looks like and it’s location. From what I’ve seen I think it’s in my ram air cleaner, but it looks different than what the parts store shows. Does anyone know the location or have pictures of it in the engine?

The sensor should be secured into the base of the air cleaner, within the perimeter of the air filter element. They fit nicely into the hole punched in the housing originally made for the thermal vacuum switch used in older models, so that's where they landed.

Most of them in carb installations were nearly entirely plastic

that’s what I thought. All the ones the parts store shows me though are metal when I tell them iat sensor. And the one In my air cleaner has hoses connected to it, not a plug. The plug is somewhere else. Sorry it’s hard to explain
