Oil pump drive engagement check, distributor, LT1 Intake conversion

I did an LT1 intake manifold conversion for my L98

Spun a bearing at the track, zero oil pressure. Not sure which happened first the zero oil pressure, or the spun bearing.

I originally thought the bearing went first due to knock since the datalog was showing knock counts and knock retard.

Someone who had a similar experience brought up the potential that the oil pump drive shaft wasn't wasn't being adequately engaged by the distributor.

I am building a new motor now, 383 stroker. How do I check the distributor to oil pump drive shaft engagement to ensure this tolerance is within spec to make sure the oil pump keeps working and the oil pressure stays up?

Thanks!

The pump drive shaft could be installed with the coupler to the pump shaft, held on center, and the depth from the distributor mounting flange can be measured with a caliper. Compare that to the position of the drive lug on the distributor gear from the shoulder of the base.

Picture with the pan pulled

How does this engagement look?
Not enough or adequate?

Is this a go left go right kind of track? You might want a trapdoor oil pan and/or accusump.
